The 53rd Würzburg Bach Days from Thursday, November 18th to Sunday, November 28th, again offer an appealing and varied program around the famous Thomaskantor. The start of the concert series of the Johann Sebastian Bach Society Würzburg eV is the opening ceremony in the St. Johanniskirche.
The audience can look forward to great works such as the oratorio I on the 400th anniversary of the death of the composer Michael Praetorius under the direction of Christian Kabitz or the oratorio II with cantatas I to III of the world-famous Christmas oratorio by JS Bach under the direction of Regine Schlereth.
The Würzburg Bach Choir sings both oratorios and the cantata services. He is accompanied by the musicians of the Neue Frankfurter Hofkapelle and the La Banda Orchestra. Soloists include Anna Nesyba, Maria Bernius, Barbara Buffy or Matthias Lucht and Martin Platz, Tilman Lichdi and Michael Albert.
